Finally finished

Yay for me!!!

After much dragging of the feet, I have finally finished the book....

Bookclub tonight so we can talk and discuss it - might need a glass or two of champagne before that can happen.

My choice next, fingers crossed that I've chosen well.  I haven't started it just in case it's a bad choice because I haven't got time to go and buy another.  I suppose I'll soon find out.

What did you think of the book?

Without wanting to offend anyone because we all have such different tastes and lots of people have loved it...I actually found it to be mindnumbingly boring. I wasn't entertained and I didn't get the reason behind the book. Maybe I wasn't in a "perceptive state of mind" when I read it.

So, what did you think? If you've reread it, you must have thought it was worth the reread???

No I didn't love it either, a bit depressing really. I think I am a fairly superficial reader so perhaps I reread books because I didn't take much in the previous times.

But there was something in it that kind of fascinated me, I think it was the way Holden spoke. But I don't really think I identified with his character at all because you could tell he was heading towards some sort of breakdown, he was losing his self control in a way that I would not let myself go... if that makes any sense.

Let us know what your club thought of it, and I can't wait to hear what you read next. I am reading The Land of the Painted Caves, the last in the Clan of the Cave Bear series. Not liking it nearly as much as the earlier ones.
