Change of season

We've had some lovely Autumn days this week.  Beautiful cool nights for sleeping and mild sunny days - gorgeous.  But we all know that eventually the rain and cold will come so we ordered our winter wood yesterday.

2 tonne of dry red gum - chopped ready to go.

Some by the door ready for inside.

Some small bits in the copper to get the fire started.

All we needed now was some muscle to
move the rest down to the shed.

Meet...

Bogan boy...

Formerly my "Beach baby" until he got his hair cut short a couple of weeks ago.

And his helper...

Mr "I'd rather do the ironing than
move wood"

They did a wonderful job and their Dad was very
happy when he got home from work.

Julius already has his spot reserved by the fire.

You know what they say...

"First in best dressed"

You're lucky you have such bribeable helpers! Isn't having a fire again so nice! I forgot how much I missed reading by the fire...

They are good helpers and I love having the fire going again, it's such a lovely warmth.
