The holidays are coming to an end and I have 2 more sleeps until it's back to work. I did the usual at the start of the holidays, you know...
"These holidays I'm going to...
- Walk everyday
- Use my Wii Fit
- Stretch
- Eat healthy
- Drink plenty of water
- Tidy the study
- etc, etc, etc,"
I dutifully consulted "60 Second Secrets" for a few suggestions on how to improve my life and here's the tip I took on board.
"Buy a bottle of apple cider vinegar today. From tomorrow morning, begin to take a teaspoon or two of it each morning in a glass of water....It helps cleanse your insides, improves digestion and gives you a glow of health."
How easy does that sound. So at the beginning of school holidays I bought myself a bottle, took it on holidays with me, bought it home again where it has sat waiting on the kitchen bench.
Richard did remind me this morning that it ain't going to work sitting in the bottle so I unscrewed the cap put 2 teaspoons in water and swallowed.
Hmmmm, goodness me. It sent an involuntary shudder through my jaw, made my eyes go funny and then every muscles squirmed all the way down to my toes.
What's that saying? If it tastes bad it must be good for you. If that's true I'll be glowing inside and out in no time.

When teaching I occasionally had a sore throat. Now if you mix the apple cider vinegar the same way and gargle with it...then swallow the mouthful. Keep it handy and repeat as often as you think of it...the sore throat goes away...There must be something in it!
ah! you're the second person this week who has mentioned Apple Cider Vinegar. Both my mother & grandmother swear by this routine of 2teaspoons in a glass of water daily. A friend at work says he's never felt better since taking it.
However, I'm like you... my bottle has made its way to the back of the pantry unopened. I think I better go get it out & start taking it. I need all the help I can get at the moment.
I'll let you know how it goes, although I'm not known for my consistency in taking things.
I frequently get "a tickle" in my throat so maybe that will go away now.
mmmm I will take a look at your colour and vitality this week when I see you....and then decide to start drinking vinegar...
Green tea is extremely good for you too Judith...I have been drinking that for a few months now...it dosnt dissolve fat though, damn shame that....
I've tried Green tea - didn't really tickle my fancy tho. Did buy some olive leaf extract a few months ago - it gives a warning that it may upset you when you first start taking it - I was so sick that I didn't take it again. What a waste of money that was $36 a bottle at least the vinegar was under $3.
The thing with apple cider vinegar is that it has to be the cloudy organic vinegar to do any real good. It has to have something in it called the "mother". I have my organic bottle sitting right inside my kitchen shelf ready to go. It has been awhile since I've had any. Good luck !!
From Beyond My Kitchen Window, how do you know if it has "mother" in it and did you find it helpful?
I've googled it now and looks like I need to go to the Organic shop in Stirling and get some cider with mother in it. No point swallowing yukky stuff if it's not the right one. Thanks B.M.K.W.
Your welcome Judith. Sorry that I am just getting back to your post.
Oh, I forget to mention that I didn't do it long enough to see any results. But I think that I will start again .
